Ranging from 1988 to 1999, this book includes interviews with the acclaimed Chinese director of such films as Red Sorghum (1987), Shanghai Triad (1995), actor actress red and Not One Less (1999) actor actress red and the trilogy Ju Dou (1990), Raise the Red Lantern (1992), actor actress red and The Story of Qiu Ju (1992). Several of these interviews appear in English for the first time. Some come from Chinese-language periodicals, actor actress red and a few have never been published until now. In these conversations with such notable critics as Michel Ciment, Robert Sklar, actor actress red and Tam Kwok-Kan, Zhang Yimou discusses all his films actor actress red and speaks candidly about his work both as a cinematographer actor actress red and an actor.
